Pet and Wildlife Portrait Artist

I'm Katie Hester, a professional pet portrait and wildlife conservation artist based in the southwest of England. I pride myself on creating highly detailed realism animal portraiture using colour & graphite pencils.

In each drawing I aim to encapsulate the spirit, raw beauty and behaviour of the animal. With my wildlife artwork, I enjoy bringing you as close to them as possible - the closer you get to the portrait the more details you can see. 

As for the pet portrait commissions I love to capture the beloved pet and turn your photographs into a special hand drawn pet portrait to cherish forever.

I donate 10% of the profits from the sale of all wildlife originals, to raise funds for vital conservation efforts.

Finalist for the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year 2024 Competition

"I am absolutely thrilled that my lioness portrait 'Fearless' (seen on the left) was exhibited at The Mall Galleries, London from the 2nd-6th July 2024. 

I was shortlisted as a Finalist for

The David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of The Year 2024

which completely blew me away! (Definitely a cloud 9 moment). 

It took 100 hours of drawing her in colour pencils to achieve this hyper-realistic portrait. 

I was also nominated in the top 10 for 

Wildlife Artist of the Year 2024 - Peoples Choice Award
